Assistant Project Manager (Substation)

Location: Hybrid/flexible working based in Aberdeen, with site delivery at Netherton Hub, Peterhead, United Kingdom.

Salary: £36,200–£54,400 per year, plus car or car allowance, performance-related bonus, and benefits.

What you will do

• Deliver delegated packages within the £600m+ civil, building, and substation project at Netherton Hub.
• Work with the Senior Project Manager, Project Manager, internal support functions, external contractors, and consultants.
• Ensure delivery meets approved cost, programme, safety, and quality targets.
• Apply NEC3 contract-management provisions, including interface management and change control.
• Build productive relationships with contractors, stakeholders, and local communities.
• Keep safety central to all work in accordance with the SSE safety licence.

Requirements

• Experience delivering execution-phase capital projects.
• Experience with safety management systems, CDM regulations, planning and programmes, cost, risk, quality, design, and consents.
• Ability to work within agreed contractual provisions, including NEC3.
• Strong verbal and written interpersonal and communication skills, with an understanding of project-management systems and governance for large projects.
• Engineering, construction, or project background with a relevant qualification, degree, or equivalent experience.
• Site-based delivery experience and a proactive, motivated approach to delegated work packages.
