Digital Transformation Conversion Intern (Benchling)

Location: Lower Gwynedd Township, Pennsylvania, United States of America; full-time, onsite internship with no relocation and no travel required.

Salary: $39,108–$111,111 per year.

What you will do

• Review prioritized Test Method documents to identify assay workflows, critical steps, data fields, calculations, and documentation requirements.
• Convert Test Methods into standardized, reusable Benchling templates and recording aids.
• Support data field mapping, template design, usability evaluation, and alignment with regulated documentation practices.
• Collaborate with scientists and process owners to reflect method requirements and user needs.
• Develop user guidance, summarize project progress and recommendations, and present outcomes at the end-of-summer intern symposium.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Bioinformatics, Information Systems, or a related scientific or technical discipline.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to interpret technical or procedural documentation.
• Ability to organize and translate complex information into structured formats.
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
• Experience using Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Comfort working with digital tools, spreadsheets, structured data, and template-based systems.
• Effective verbal and written communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Benchling, LIMS, or other electronic laboratory notebook platforms.
• Interest in scientific informatics, digital laboratory platforms, or workflow automation.
• Experience with data structuring, template design, process mapping, or systems documentation.
• Exposure to Python, R, SQL, or similar tools for automation, data analysis, or workflow support.
• Understanding of laboratory workflows, assay execution, or regulated scientific documentation.
