Mechanical Engineer (SMT Manufacturing)

What you will do

• Develop and implement SMT production processes that meet product design and quality requirements.
• Analyze and optimize SMT processes to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and increase yield.
• Troubleshoot production issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Conduct Cpk process capability studies and apply Statistical Process Control across assembly operations.
• Collaborate with R&D, Equipment Maintenance, and Quality Assurance on NPI and process stability.
• Maintain process documentation, SOPs, work instructions, and provide technical training to operators and technicians.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical discipline.
• 3–5+ years of hands-on experience in a detailed manufacturing environment, with active SMT manufacturing experience providing additional value.
• Knowledge of solder paste printing, pick-and-place, reflow soldering, and automated inspection including AOI/AXI.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured, data-driven approach.
• Familiarity with Design for Manufacturability and Design for Assembly principles.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.

Nice to have

• Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma process optimization methodologies.
