What you will do

  • Lead epidemiology strategy primarily for oncology R&D programs, with agile support for neurology programs.
  • Design and manage non-interventional studies, including natural history studies, external control arms, disease registries, and post-marketing requirements and commitments.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams delivering protocols, statistical analysis plans, interim analyses, and final study reports under international guidelines and regulatory commitments.
  • Develop epidemiology and pharmacoepidemiology content for orphan designation applications, pediatric study plans, risk management plans, benefit-risk reports, and health authority interactions.
  • Identify global real-world data assets, manage RFPs and vendors, and oversee CROs, investigators, academic collaborators, budgets, timelines, and data integrity.
  • Present findings at oncology and neurology congresses and author manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree such as PhD, ScD, DrPH, or MS/MPH in Epidemiology, Pharmacoepidemiology, Health Services Research, or a closely related quantitative public health discipline.
  • At least 4 years of relevant experience with a PhD or 6 years with a Master's degree in pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, academic research, or an epidemiology/RWE-focused CRO.
  • Hands-on experience designing and executing rare disease epidemiology studies, including low-prevalence data limitations, case-finding algorithms, and natural history study designs.
  • Demonstrated oncology epidemiology experience covering solid tumors, hematologic malignancies, or rare cancer indications.
  • Expertise in non-interventional study designs, including retrospective and prospective cohorts, disease registries, and synthetic or external control arms using real-world data.
  • Direct experience with longitudinal healthcare databases, including EMR networks, claims databases, and disease-specific registries.
  • Prior experience supporting neurology, neuro-oncology, or rare neurological conditions.
  • Direct experience preparing and defending epidemiology-driven regulatory submissions before FDA, EMA, MHRA, or PMDA, particularly for accelerated approvals or orphan designations.
  • Experience with site-based data collection, such as multisite retrospective chart reviews and hybrid registry studies.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional study teams, manage external vendors and budgets, and balance multiple development-program priorities.
  • Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills, including the ability to explain complex epidemiological methods to non-technical stakeholders and regulatory reviewers.
  • Ability to work effectively in a hybrid/remote matrix environment and travel approximately 10% as needed.
