Forward Deployed Engineer, Enterprise - Milan (AI)

Location: Milan, Italy; hybrid with 3 days per week in the Milan office and 2 days remote

Murphy builds AI agents for banks, initially focused on voice AI for debt collection across voice, messaging, email, and SMS channels.

What you will do

• Own end-to-end delivery of enterprise AI agent builds from POC scoping through implementation, evaluation, and production launch.
• Define operating procedures, guardrails, escalations, contact strategies, payment flows, and human hand-offs with customers.
• Design prompts and agent logic for identification, negotiation, and payment conversations across languages and channels.
• Build evaluation and simulation harnesses, regression tests, customer integrations, and production monitoring.
• Diagnose failures using transcripts, traces, logs, SQL, and dashboards; improve agents and contact strategies based on production performance.
• Work with senior customer stakeholders, support technical discovery and demos, and turn recurring lessons into reusable templates and playbooks.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in a technical customer-facing role such as forward deployed engineering, solutions engineering, implementation engineering, technical consulting, or technical product management.
• Ability to write code and SQL, work with APIs, and build end-to-end integrations.
• Hands-on experience building with LLMs, including prompting, evaluations, guardrails, harnesses, and tool use.
• Experience delivering production systems for enterprise customers requiring structured testing and iteration.
• Ability to explain technical decisions to senior stakeholders and turn requirements into delivery plans.
• Comfort working in fast-moving, ambiguous situations while shaping and building solutions.
• Native-level Italian and fluent English required.

Nice to have

• Experience in banking, lending, collections, or regulated customer communications.
• Voice AI or telephony experience.
• Computer Science, Engineering, or Math degree, or equivalent experience.
