Affiliate Marketing Lead, Shop

What you will do

• Build and run Shop’s affiliate program, including platform selection, account setup, terms, tracking, payouts, and partner-facing operations.
• Recruit, onboard, activate, and manage publishers across editorial commerce, cashback, rewards, loyalty apps, deal sites, and browser extensions.
• Set commission structures, negotiate partner terms, model payback, and monitor cost per install and cost per new buyer.
• Implement and QA web and mobile attribution using deep links, deferred deep links, postbacks, install tracking, and event tracking.
• Design incrementality tests, monitor fraud and policy abuse, and enforce disclosure, trademark, and brand-safety policies.
• Build dashboards, reporting, payout forecasts, documentation, partner assets, offers, and proposals for new partner categories or tests.

Requirements

• 5–10 years of experience in affiliate, partner, or performance marketing, including hands-on ownership of an affiliate program at consumer scale.
• Direct experience running an affiliate platform such as Impact, Partnerize, Rakuten, CJ, Awin, or an in-house equivalent.
• Experience building or scaling a channel rather than only inheriting and optimizing one.
• Strong analytical skills, including opportunity sizing, payback modeling, SQL, or advanced spreadsheet analysis.
• Working knowledge of mobile attribution, including deep links, deferred deep links, postbacks, install tracking, and tools such as AppsFlyer, Branch, or Adjust.
• Ability to design and defend incrementality tests that account for last-click overstatement.
• Experience negotiating commercial terms, managing partner compliance, and identifying affiliate fraud and policy abuse.
• Exceptional attention to detail, clear written communication, and the ability to work with Finance on forecasts, accruals, and partner payments.

Nice to have

• Experience with cashback and rewards partners, coupon and browser-extension ecosystems, multi-market programs, commerce, or fintech.
