Fund Accounting Senior Manager (Fintech)

Location: Hybrid in New York City or San Francisco; office attendance required at least two days per week, on Tuesdays and either Wednesday or Thursday.

Base salary starts at $220,000+ annually, plus benefits and equity.

What you will do

• Oversee accounting and financial reporting processes for investment companies and funds.
• Own process descriptions, control matrices, and flow charts, including onboarding processes for new clients from administrators and service providers.
• Coordinate fund audits with external auditors and ensure timely completion.
• Evaluate portfolio company events and investment data to determine appropriate valuation actions.
• Coach and oversee managers and senior accountants while addressing investor and fund lead inquiries.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to increase accounting and reporting automation.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in investment company accounting.
• Strong academic track record and a CPA license strongly preferred.
• Experience at a public accounting firm and/or in a fund accounting-focused role at a fund administrator or investment advisor.
• Proficiency in US GAAP, particularly ASC 946 and ASC 820, including evaluation of special situations.
• Extensive experience creating financial statements for investment companies or funds, including writing footnotes.
• Experience improving financial reporting control environments and implementing and/or managing SOC 1 reporting processes.
• Experience preparing materials for and coordinating with external auditors.
• Self-motivation, proactivity, commitment to success, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with portfolio companies and lead investors.
