Fund Accounting Senior Associate (Fintech)

Location: Hybrid role based in New York City or San Francisco; office attendance is required at least two days per week, on Tuesdays and either Wednesday or Thursday.

Salary: Base salary starts at $130,000+ annually, plus benefits and equity.

What you will do

• Evaluate portfolio company events and investment data to determine appropriate valuation actions.
• Prepare audited and unaudited financial statements and coordinate with audit firms through annual audit completion.
• Ensure investment accounting complies with GAAP and evaluate special situations.
• Review post-close actions, valuation and accounting updates, management and administrative fee calculations, and scheduled or ad hoc financial reporting.
• Resolve exceptions, respond to investor inquiries, research technical issues, and collaborate directly with GPs and LPs.
• Own specific team functions and workflows while partnering with engineering on automation and process improvement.

Requirements

• 3–4+ years of operational excellence in the financial sector, including fund administration and/or public accounting experience focused on VC and/or PE clients.
• A superb academic track record; a CPA license is strongly preferred.
• Effective, polished communication with portfolio companies and lead investors.
• Exceptional attention to detail, including the ability to identify corner cases consistently.
• Strong organizational skills and a process-oriented approach to managing thousands of investments systematically.
• Willingness to perform detailed operational work requiring persistence and determination.
• Mastery of core financial concepts and strong interest in the accounting, legal, tax, and finance foundations of venture finance.
• Ability to embrace regular changes to products and processes.
