Manager, Private Equity / Fund of Funds Accounting

Location: Hybrid in Jacksonville, FL or New York City, United States

Salary: New York: $130,000–$160,000 USD; other states: $78,000–$165,000 USD, plus potential discretionary bonus and/or equity awards.

What you will do

• Serve as the primary relationship manager and trusted advisor for private equity and fund-of-funds clients.
• Lead the preparation and review of fund accounting, investor reporting, financial statements, supporting schedules, disclosures, and workpapers.
• Oversee capital calls, distributions, carried interest allocations, accruals, valuation adjustments, capital accounts, investor allocations, and management fee calculations.
• Build, review, and maintain distribution waterfall models and other complex fund calculations in accordance with fund terms.
• Partner with clients, auditors, tax professionals, and internal teams during year-end reporting and audit cycles.
• Lead, coach, and develop accounting professionals; contribute to hiring and termination decisions, performance feedback, strategic initiatives, and process improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 7+ years of accounting experience with alternative investment funds, including private equity and/or fund-of-funds structures.
• 2+ years of experience leading, supervising, or mentoring accounting professionals.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and investment partnership accounting.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Collaborative mindset and commitment to team success and continuous improvement.
• Ability to lead teams, develop talent, drive results, and balance technical excellence with client service.
• Project management and organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel skills.

Nice to have

• CPA designation.
• Experience with Investran or similar private equity accounting platforms.
