Manager, Fund Accounting

Location: Hybrid in New York City, NY; Boston, MA; Windsor, CT; Jacksonville, FL; or Dallas, TX

Salary: New York base salary of $78,000–$165,000; Massachusetts base salary of $115,000–$165,000 per year. Additional discretionary bonus and/or equity awards may be available.

What you will do

• Oversee daily, weekly, and monthly accounting and reporting for alternative investment funds, including private equity, hedge fund, and real estate portfolios.
• Manage, train, and develop a team of fund accountants.
• Review and approve journal entries, capital calls, distributions, investor allocations, financial statements, investor reports, and regulatory filings.
• Lead client communication and resolve complex accounting inquiries.
• Collaborate with operations, compliance, and technology teams to improve service delivery and operational efficiency.
• Develop accounting controls, support client onboarding and due diligence, and implement process automation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 7+ years of fund accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role within alternative investments.
• In-depth knowledge of alternative investment structures and accounting complexities.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and IFRS, particularly for investment companies.
• Experience managing and developing accounting professionals, with strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with fund accounting software such as Advent Geneva, PFS-PAXUS, or Investran, and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
