Senior Software Engineer (Backend Oriented) (CDMX)

Location: Mexico City, Mexico. Currently fully remote, with a future transition to a hybrid setup.

hirify.global is building an AI-powered financial platform for Latinos in the US, combining conversational interfaces with real-time infrastructure for remittances, credit, savings, and wallet services.

What you will do

• Architect, implement, optimize, and scale backend microservices in the Payments, Disbursements, or GRC squad.
• Build systems for secure fund collection, transaction processing, beneficiary disbursements, user onboarding, KYC, and compliance.
• Design and manage infrastructure handling millions of daily requests with strong security and performance.
• Use Google Cloud services and industry-standard tools to build and maintain distributed systems.
• Collaborate with product, operations, compliance, and other business units on financial solutions.
• Mentor junior developers, promote engineering best practices, and improve platform capabilities through feedback and analytics.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Fluent or advanced English.
• Experience building, shipping, and iterating on software applications, particularly in Fintech; equivalent competencies may also be considered.
• Solid foundation in algorithms and data structures, plus experience designing and implementing web services including REST APIs.
• Familiarity with Hexagonal Architecture, Event-Driven Architecture, A/B Testing, Feature Flags, and Gradual Rollouts.
• Experience with payment systems, financial disbursement solutions, or compliance-driven platforms is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of security protocols, compliance standards, and KYC/AML processes.
• Excellent collaboration and prioritization skills, curiosity, continuous-learning commitment, and interest in building products with impact on millions of users.

Nice to have

• Experience or curiosity in Fintech; equivalent competencies will also be considered.
• Familiarity with React, HTTP, HTML/DOM, JavaScript, CSS, AJAX, Python, Flask/FastAPI, Redis, SQL, gRPC, Google Cloud services, Kubernetes, Terraform, NewRelic, and PagerDuty.
