Cloud Software Engineer

Location: Hybrid schedule in the San Jose, California office, with an average of 2 days per week in an HPE office. The position is also listed for Arizona, California, Oregon, Utah, and Washington.

Annual base salary: USD 143,000–290,500 in California; USD 126,500–290,500 in Arizona, Oregon, Utah, and Washington. Variable incentives may also be offered.

What you will do

• Analyze feature specifications and define coding, testing, and integration activities.
• Design and develop moderate-to-complex cloud application modules while following security policies.
• Debug code and integration issues and create solutions aligned with application architecture.
• Develop and execute test plans covering performance, scale, usability, and security.
• Deploy cloud systems and application code through CI/CD pipelines to automate management, scaling, and deployment.
• Collaborate with project managers and development partners on delivery, deployment, operation, monitoring, support, and technology integration.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or a closely related quantitative discipline; a master’s degree is desirable.
• 4+ years of experience in cloud development.
• Strong programming skills in Python, Java, Golang, or JavaScript.
• Understanding of distributed systems, event-driven programming paradigms, and design for scale and performance.
• Experience with cloud-native applications, developer tools, managed services, and next-generation databases.
• Knowledge of DevOps practices, including CI/CD, infrastructure as code, containerization, and Kubernetes orchestration.
• Good written and verbal communication skills and agility in a changing environment.
