Assistant Branch Manager (Retail Banking)

Location: 3606 Frederick Ave, St. Joseph, Missouri 64506, United States; onsite branch schedule

Compensation: $26.45–$30.30 per hour, with eligibility for performance-based incentive plans.

What you will do

• Support day-to-day branch operations, administration, staffing schedules, budgets, and workflow.
• Serve customers as a personal banker, resolve inquiries, anticipate financial needs, and maintain an exceptional in-branch experience.
• Manage, mentor, and coach personal bankers and other team members through structured development and performance processes.
• Drive individual and branch sales goals, analyze results, and implement performance improvement efforts.
• Ensure compliance with banking, security, talent-management, and operational policies; escalate issues when needed.
• Perform management functions including hiring, evaluations, annual increase allocations, disciplinary action, training coordination, and communication of priorities.

Requirements

• High school diploma required; an associate degree is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least 1 year of leadership or supervisory experience required.
• At least 1 year of financial services industry experience, including working knowledge of retail products, services, and bank operations, required.
• Strong knowledge of retail banking best practices and the ability to apply critical thinking, discretion, and sound judgment.
• Ability to drive results while balancing organizational risk and business goals.
• Strong leadership, motivation, collaboration, interpersonal, relationship-building, and written and verbal communication skills.
• Adaptability, resilience, optimism, and alignment with company core values.
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
• Must authorize an investigatory consumer report disclosing credit history if considered for the position.
