Test Infrastructure Engineer (Manufacturing)

Location: Foster City, CA, United States; on-site

Base salary: $183,000–$220,000 per year. Additional compensation may include Amazon RSUs, Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights, and a sign-on bonus.

Zoox develops autonomous vehicles and operates manufacturing sites requiring software infrastructure for factory testing and diagnostics.

What you will do

• Develop test frameworks supporting factory testing across Zoox manufacturing sites.
• Design and implement server infrastructure for manufacturing test activities.
• Develop applications and shared code libraries for manufacturing processes and test engineers.
• Design dashboards for manufacturing data, including throughput and tester utilization.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, hardware, and software teams.

Requirements

• BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; MS preferred.
• 6+ years of industry software development experience focused on on-premises or cloud infrastructure.
• Exposure to manufacturing technologies such as MRP, MES, MQTT, SCADA systems, and IoT devices.
• Experience with cloud deployment and infrastructure technologies such as Kubernetes, Terraform, and AWS.
• Deep Python experience covering scripting, web services, tool development, and test frameworks; working knowledge of Pytest required.
• Experience building dashboards and alerting systems for infrastructure monitoring.
• Knowledge of Git, CI/CD pipelines, reproducible builds, deployment strategies, and supporting infrastructure.
• Experience with Linux system administration and server management.

Nice to have

• Experience with server fleet management technologies such as Salt, Ansible, Puppeteer, or Slurm.
• Experience with system design involving databases, web servers, and containerization such as Docker.
• Experience deploying applications to AWS and on-premises or bare-metal servers.
• Familiarity with Prometheus and Grafana metrics, dashboarding, and logging ecosystems, including the LGTM stack.
