Agency Associate (Syndicated Lending)

Location: Toronto, ON; work arrangement includes an on-site and remote proportion to be discussed during the interview

What you will do

• Provide specialized agency services as an independent intermediary between borrowers and lenders in syndicated credit facilities.
• Administer and monitor established credit facilities, including data input, verification, risk escalation, and compliance with loan agreements.
• Liaise with borrowers, lenders, legal counsel, and internal business units on syndicated lending activities and lender transfers.
• Provide guidance on local-market funding and operational standards, recommending solutions to complex funding issues.
• Manage fund flows, collect and distribute revenues, and review and negotiate annual agency fees.
• Support continuous improvement, quality initiatives, process updates, and operational risk mitigation.

Requirements

• Degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance.
• 3–5 years of relevant work experience.
• Solid knowledge of lending products and accepted syndication and loan administration practices in Canadian Commercial Banking, Canadian Large Corporate, US Large Corporate, or European Large Corporate markets.
• Ability to investigate complex problems, interpret detailed information, and apply critical thinking.
• Strong relationship management, communication, prioritization, and goal-orientation skills.
• Ability to maintain expert knowledge of credit agreements and administer contractual arrangements accurately.
• Legally eligible to work at the specified location; a valid work or study permit may be required.
