What you will do

• Support the development, enhancement, replacement, rationalization, and lifecycle management of Barksdale’s valve product portfolio.
• Lead smaller mechanical and electrical engineering projects from concept through completion and report progress to stakeholders.
• Support BOM creation, product costing, product change requests, obsolescence initiatives, data analysis, and market research.
• Gather and evaluate customer technical requirements, including occasional onsite customer visits, and translate specifications into design requirements.
• Analyze product performance and reliability, support quality issue resolution, and collaborate on tolerance analysis, material selection, CAD work, electrical schematics, and prototype validation.
• Respond to customer inquiries, prepare technical and business documentation, deliver presentations and training, and evaluate solutions for new or modified products.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering (BSME/BSEE).
• 1–2 years of relevant experience in engineering, project management, and/or product development.
• Familiarity with project management practices, new product development processes, and technical product or application development.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, material properties, and industrial standards.
• Understanding of industrial marketing, sales principles, and customer engagement.
• Ability to collaborate within cross-functional teams, analyze problems, exercise sound business judgment, and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to deliver clear and engaging technical presentations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including strong Excel skills.
• Ability to travel to meet customers for training, technical discussions, and business development.

Nice to have

• Proficiency with engineering tools such as CAD software, including SolidWorks or AutoCAD, or electrical design tools such as Altium or MATLAB.
