Sr. Principal Engineer, Employee Experience (Hybrid - Seattle, WA)

What you will do

• Define multi-year technical strategy and roadmaps for Finance, HR, Productivity, and Collaboration systems, aligned with enterprise architecture, cloud strategy, and AI ambitions.
• Own architecture and design patterns for ERP, procure-to-pay, order-to-cash, financial planning, HCM, recruiting, workforce management, Microsoft 365, messaging, workflow, and service management platforms.
• Establish SaaS integration patterns, API standards, event schemas, and data contracts connecting core business systems.
• Lead platform modernization, vendor migrations, technical debt deprecations, and system consolidations across engineering teams and business functions.
• Define security, identity, access-control, data-protection, privacy, compliance, and resilience patterns for sensitive financial and employee data.
• Guide AI-enabled automation and self-service initiatives while setting engineering standards, mentoring senior and principal engineers, and advising on technical growth.

Requirements

• 15+ years of experience in software engineering, systems architecture, or platform engineering, with progression to strategic, enterprise-scope technical leadership.
• Hands-on experience across enterprise finance systems such as ERP, GL, and procure-to-pay; HR/HCM platforms such as Workday or similar; and productivity or collaboration tools such as Microsoft 365, ServiceNow, or Slack.
• Deep expertise in enterprise integration patterns, APIs, event-driven architecture, and data flows connecting core business systems.
• Ability to lead through influence, build consensus with engineering, product, and business stakeholders, and connect architecture to business outcomes.
• Working knowledge of security, privacy, and regulatory requirements for financial and employee data, including segregation of duties, SOC, data privacy, and access governance.
• Expertise with multiple cloud platforms and modern application architectures, sufficient to evaluate build-versus-buy decisions.
• Ability to communicate technical value to executive stakeholders across Finance, HR, and Technology.
• Track record of developing engineering talent and building cross-functional partnerships across teams not directly managed.
