Hardware Reliability Engineer - R&D (M/W/D)

Location: Lübeck, Germany; regular onsite presence required with some flexibility for remote work.

What you will do

• Plan and execute reliability test programs, including HALT, ALT, vibration, and thermal cycling, from setup and instrumentation through documented conclusions.
• Lead root cause analysis for electrical, mechanical, and electromechanical failures through hands-on hardware teardown and investigation.
• Drive DFMEA activities in new product development teams, track mitigations, and close actions with engineering evidence.
• Maintain and improve FRACAS, analyze field, warranty, and service data, and translate trends into engineering improvements.
• Assess component and assembly lifetimes, collaborate with suppliers on reliability requirements and qualification data, and provide traceable technical documentation.
• Act as an active reliability engineering contributor in cross-functional NPD programs and present findings and recommendations.

Requirements

• Degree in electrical, mechanical, mechatronics, or a related engineering discipline.
• Hands-on experience with reliability testing and failure analysis, including personally running tests, tearing down hardware, and identifying root causes.
• Working knowledge of FMEA/DFMEA, FRACAS, Weibull analysis, and accelerated life testing.
• Ability to use data analysis tools such as Excel, Python, or similar and draw defensible engineering conclusions from field and test data.
• Structured, ownership-oriented problem-solving approach, with the ability to close problems rather than only document them.
• Ability to work independently and drive progress without close supervision.
• Clear, factual communication in English and German at a minimum B2 level.
