Cleared Network Engineer (Azure)

Location: Lorton, VA; onsite work required, with frequent travel and possible work outside core hours or on-call responsibilities.

Salary: $97,000.00–$180,000.00 per year.

What you will do

• Design, configure, and manage LAN/WAN infrastructure and Azure networking components.
• Resolve tier 3 network escalations and complex issues while minimizing operational impact.
• Monitor network performance, identify risks, implement corrective measures, and conduct capacity planning.
• Help develop network security policies and best practices in Azure environments.
• Train junior network engineers and support staff on networking, Azure concepts, and troubleshooting.
• Maintain documentation for network designs, configurations, processes, and procedures.

Requirements

• 7–10+ years of networking engineering experience, including experience as a Network Support Specialist or in a similar role.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Deep knowledge of LAN/WAN design, configuration, management, Azure networking, and protocols including TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, SNMP, VPN, BGP, and OSPF.
• Experience with firewalls including Palo Alto, IDS/IPS, access control systems, and Azure networking security.
• Experience with network monitoring and management tools such as Wireshark, SolarWinds, and Nagios, including Azure networking components.
• Familiarity with routers, switches, load balancers, network operating systems such as Cisco and Juniper, and Azure virtual networks, subnets, VPN gateways, and ExpressRoute.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, written, and verbal communication skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Must be within driving distance of Lorton, VA or willing to relocate there; relocation assistance is available.
• Must be willing to work onsite, travel frequently, and support high-priority investigations outside core hours or on call.
• Must possess an active TS/SCI clearance or above and DoD 8570 IAT II certification.
