Network Engineer (Clearance Required)

Location: Fort Meade, Maryland, United States. On-site in a classified facility.

Salary: $100,000–$150,000 per year.

What you will do

• Lead network engineering from architecture and design through implementation, maintenance, upgrades, integration, testing, and deployment across LAN, CAN, WAN, Voice, and Video environments.
• Lead large-scale network installation, conversion, cutover, administration, incident resolution, and technical coordination across sites and responsible users.
• Optimize performance and data flow by analyzing captures, latency, throughput, component requirements, and network monitoring data.
• Configure and integrate network devices and solutions including load balancing, VPNs, firewalls, VoIP, GRE tunneling, IPSec, IP encryption, MoIP, and NAT.
• Lead network security architecture, STIG, RMF, NIST 800-53, accreditation, assessment, and authorization activities for classified systems.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, guide assigned work, and serve as the senior technical authority with program leadership and mission partners.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph before starting, plus a CI Investigation closed within the last 5 years.
• DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level III baseline certification before starting, such as CASP+ CE, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP, or equivalent.
• 10+ years of relevant professional Network Engineering experience; degree substitutions require 12 years with a bachelor's degree or 16 years without a degree plus an accepted network certification.
• Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Information Security Systems Engineering, or a related discipline; alternatives include the specified bachelor's degree and experience combinations, or additional experience plus Arista Configuration Essentials, CCNA, or a Juniper certification track.
• Senior-level experience designing and administering LAN/CAN/WAN infrastructure in DoD or Intelligence Community classified environments.
• Experience operating network analyzers, WAN test equipment, and network simulators to resolve complex network problems.
• Experience leading large-scale network installation and integration projects and implementing VPNs, firewall contexts, VoIP, GRE tunneling, IPSec, IP encryption, and NAT.
• Experience developing algorithms or models for networking and/or telecommunications systems.
• Direct employment with EmergeATS is required; sub-to-sub arrangements are not accepted.

Nice to have

• Arista Configuration Essentials, CCNA/CCNP, or Juniper certification in the listed automation, cloud, data center, routing and switching, security, or service provider tracks.
• Experience designing traditional circuit-switched network modules and integrating network hardware and software for ISO 9000 compliance.
• Experience with NIST 800-53 controls, RMF, and A&A activities; enterprise-scale Python or Ansible network automation.
• Experience mentoring junior and mid-level network engineering staff.
• Familiarity with Cross Domain Solutions architecture and lifecycle management in classified environments.
