Software Development Engineer in Test (AI)

Location: Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada; Flex work with at least 50% of each quarter spent in the office or in the field.

Annual base salary: CAD 83,400–125,000, depending on work location, experience, skills, duties, and business need. The role may also be eligible for a bonus and annual refresh stock grants.

What you will do

• Collaborate with an agile, cross-functional engineering team to build an enterprise-grade SaaS contract management platform.
• Implement automated functional and regression testing to maintain product quality.
• Develop performance and load testing strategies to improve platform scalability.
• Partner with software developers and product managers to define features and verification criteria.
• Design, develop, and maintain test automation frameworks supporting continuous integration and delivery.

Requirements

• 3+ years of quality engineering experience with a strong focus on test automation.
• 3+ years of experience with modern automation tools and technologies; Playwright is highly desirable.
• 3+ years of experience testing Python and React applications, with a strong commitment to quality engineering principles and patterns.
• Algorithmic thinking covering sorting, searching, and fundamental data structures such as arrays and lists.
• Basic experience writing and debugging automated tests with Playwright or Cypress.
• Basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines, GitHub Actions, and GitLab Actions.
• Familiarity with JavaScript, TypeScript, and/or Python for test automation development.
• Understanding of software development principles, the software development lifecycle, source control tools such as Git, and collaboration within software development and testing teams.
• Understanding of test automation frameworks, test design, test documentation, test management, and testing strategies, including test cases, test plans, traceability matrices, defect tracking, and test execution.
