CX Test Automation Intern (AI)

Location: On-site in Burnaby, Canada; 4-month co-op based in Vancouver starting January 7, 2027, with an option to extend for a further 8 months.

Salary: CA$25–CA$28 per hour. Additional discretionary bonuses or incentives and equity may be available.

What you will do

• Mine customer support conversations and bug tickets to identify real workflows, failures, edge cases, and customer-originated testing requirements.
• Map workflows such as uploading videos, generating clips, and exporting to TikTok into discrete steps, decision points, and failure modes.
• Build and maintain a UI end-to-end test battery using Claude Code or Codex, with every test traced to customer evidence.
• Open pull requests in Engineering repositories, respond to code review, follow branch and merge conventions, and report flaky or failing tests with reproduction steps.
• Document product gaps with customer context, business impact, and proposed priority for Product and Engineering.
• Help the CX team adopt AI-assisted development practices and tools for issue verification and data querying.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience building and shipping something real with AI assistance, such as a side project, internal tool, or script; must be able to explain the process, model errors, and fixes.
• Ability to read Python and JavaScript/TypeScript, explain short snippets, and identify obvious bugs; writing either language from scratch is not required.
• Testing mindset: ability to identify happy paths, edge cases, and failure modes and rank them by user impact.
• Customer empathy and the ability to understand what users were trying to accomplish, not only what failed.
• Clear communication and cross-functional collaboration, including concise write-ups, requesting reviews, and accepting feedback.
• Understanding of business impact, including ROI, opportunity cost, customer reach, and the cost of testing the wrong issue.
• Ability to break user workflows into discrete moments, including steps, user decisions, and failure points.
• Student or early-career engineer profile.

Nice to have

• Background or curiosity in video editing and media, including making, editing, or publishing video or following creators closely.
• Proficiency with Claude Code or Codex, including providing context, breaking tasks into steps, and iterating on generated output.
• Basic web tooling and Git skills, including browser DevTools Network and Console tabs, element selectors, branches, commits, pull requests, and review feedback.
