Multi-Media Journalist Reporter

What you will do

• Report news stories for broadcast and develop accurate, engaging coverage for local audiences.
• Research events and background information, arrange interviews, evaluate leads, and pitch relevant story ideas.
• Determine story emphasis, length, format, and organization while revising content for editorial approval and time requirements.
• Shoot, write, voice, edit, produce, and present reports for broadcast, web, eMedia, and social platforms.
• Review copy for factual, grammatical, punctuation, style, and formatting accuracy.
• Discuss priorities with producers and news managers, interact with viewers on social media, and complete special projects as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
• At least two years of experience in news reporting, depending on market size.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to ad lib when required.
• Superior on-air presence.
• Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Flexibility to work any shift.
