Designer, Outlet Handbags

Location: Hybrid role based in New York, New York, USA, at the corporate headquarters.

Base pay range: $85,000–$105,000 per year.

What you will do

• Conceptualize, create, and develop fashion-driven outlet handbag designs aligned with the Kate Spade aesthetic.
• Conduct seasonal trend, market, and material research to support design concepts.
• Assist the Senior Designer in managing designs from conception through production.
• Create and maintain CADs and technical specification packages covering design intent, construction details, and material usage.
• Prepare design presentations, mood boards, and visual tools for milestone meetings.
• Collaborate with Merchandising, Product Development, Hardware Design, Technical Design, and Print Design partners to deliver accurate, high-quality products.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of design experience.
• College degree in fashion design or a related field; equivalent education and work experience may be considered.
• Experience designing handbags or leather goods.
• Experience utilizing AI tools.
• Strong computer knowledge, including Adobe Illustrator.
• Strong hand-sketching, design, and conceptual skills.
• Strong sense of trends, style, and color.
• Knowledge of raw materials and construction techniques.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Understanding of merchandising as it relates to sales and the store environment.

• Graphic design experience and experience working with prints.
