Editorial Intern (Spring 2027)

What you will do

• Find and research timely weather-related story ideas for digital publication.
• Write multiple digital stories per month with accurate, engaging coverage.
• Gather sources and support fact-based weather reporting.
• Use ChatGPT and other AI tools to edit content, test prompts, and optimize stories for digital platforms.
• Source and clear user-generated content for articles and social platforms.
• Collaborate with editors, meteorologists, and the social team to align coverage across platforms.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a four-year Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Meteorology, or a related field requiring writing and research experience.
• Strong writing, editing, and research skills with attention to accuracy and detail.
• Interest in weather, climate, and science-based storytelling.
• Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced newsroom environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to work occasional evenings or weekends as needed.

Nice to have

• Basic understanding of SEO and digital publishing best practices.
