Principal Product Manager, FOCUS (FinOps)

Location: Remote, US. US, South America, and EU time zones are preferred; travel several times a year is required.

Salary: $225,000–$247,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Define FOCUS product architecture, strategy, long-term vision, and multi-year roadmaps with technical staff and working group maintainers.
• Prioritize the backlog, establish strategic KPIs and capacity metrics, and coordinate releases across the FinOps Foundation, Tokenomics Foundation, and ITAM Forum.
• Shape how FOCUS represents complex and emerging AI service charges and translate technical trade-offs into scalable solutions.
• Align executives, engineers, community members, cloud providers, SaaS vendors, data generators, and practitioners around product direction.
• Scale the FOCUS conformance certification program, training, support, website architecture, specification content, and use case library.
• Contribute to GitHub working groups by reviewing pull requests and issues, tracking specification content, and coordinating work across technical domains.

Requirements

• BS/BA degree and 10–15 years of relevant product or technical experience.
• Recognized leadership in product strategy and execution, including the ability to bring clarity to complex situations under pressure.
• Deep expertise in cloud billing data, enterprise platforms, and FinOps, including how practitioners use data and how data generators implement specifications.
• Ability to translate highly complex technical challenges into broadly leverageable solutions and understand how AI services are charged.
• Executive-level writing, presentation, communication, and facilitation skills for aligning diverse and competing organizations.
• Advanced GitHub and SQL skills, information architecture expertise, and responsible use of AI assistants according to the FOCUS AI Usage Guidelines.
• Proven experience managing multi-stakeholder initiatives and running or simplifying complex certification, audit, or compliance programs.
• Strong background in open source strategy and cross-functional collaborative environments.
• Must be authorized to work in the country of residence without employer sponsorship, now or in the future.

• Experience mapping AI service charges to FOCUS.
• Ability to scale deeply into GitHub quickly if needed.
