Senior Quality Engineer (Mobile Games)

Location: Remote in the UK, or hybrid in Barcelona or Seville with three days per week in the office

What you will do

• Build, review, debug, and maintain reusable automation frameworks, tools, test infrastructure, fixtures, and test environments.
• Improve testability through technical design and code reviews, including test hooks, service interfaces, diagnostics, and maintainable quality patterns.
• Perform manual, exploratory, release, mobile, Unity, API, integration, and player-state testing while expanding sustainable automation.
• Validate mobile and backend performance, including frame rate, memory, startup, crashes, responsiveness, load, stress, and endurance.
• Investigate failures using logs, metrics, traces, crash reports, telemetry, and large datasets; establish regression coverage and quality dashboards.
• Integrate reliable validation into CI/CD, develop AI-assisted workflows for test generation and failure triage, and help establish QE standards and mentoring.

Requirements

• Professional experience in quality engineering, software development in test, or software engineering, including hands-on ownership of automation used by other engineers.
• Strong programming skills in C# or Python, with experience in source control, code reviews, debugging, and maintainable software design.
• Practical experience testing and automating Android and iOS applications across devices, operating-system differences, and unreliable network conditions.
• Experience developing API and integration tests, diagnosing failures across services and data flows, and integrating automated tests into CI/CD.
• Working knowledge of performance, risk-based, and exploratory testing, with judgment about what to automate and when to investigate directly.
• Working knowledge of SQL and practical experience with telemetry and big data, including querying large datasets, validating events and data pipelines, and using findings in testing and release decisions.
• Experience with AI-assisted engineering tools and evaluating the accuracy and usefulness of their outputs.
• Strong ownership and collaborative problem-solving skills, including turning ambiguous needs into practical solutions.
• Advanced professional English proficiency for independent technical discussions, explaining engineering decisions, and clear documentation with global teams.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with Unity, C#, Unity Test Framework, or automated testing of Unity-based mobile games.
• Experience with live-service games, player-state consistency, reconnect behavior, live configuration, or client-server synchronization.
• Experience with mobile device farms, observability, quality dashboards, or establishing QE capabilities within a growing team.
