Reporting Associate (Private Equity)

Location: Irvine Office, Irvine, California, United States; onsite

Salary: $105,000–$140,000 annually

What you will do

• Analyze private equity partnership and portfolio company financial statements, valuations, cash flows, investment performance, and significant developments.
• Prepare and review recurring client and investor reports, including daily roll-forward reporting; validate data, reconcile inputs, investigate exceptions, and ensure timely delivery.
• Support reporting for interval funds and daily-NAV investment vehicles by monitoring valuations, cash flows, capital activity, pricing inputs, and NAV-related deliverables.
• Assess portfolio, investment, and manager-level events, coordinate adjustments and approvals, and maintain supporting documentation and controls.
• Own quarterly performance reporting activities, including data updates, validation, reconciliation, and quality-control reviews.
• Research reporting exceptions, identify root causes, improve process efficiency and scalability, support fund onboarding, and provide guidance on complex analyses and reporting projects.

Requirements

• 4–7 years of relevant experience in private equity reporting, investment management, fund accounting, operations, audit, consulting, or a related field; private equity performance and investor reporting experience is strongly preferred.
• Experience supporting interval funds or other daily-NAV or frequently priced investment vehicles, including understanding of recurring daily valuation and reporting cycles, is strongly preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, business economics, or a related field, with a record of high academic achievement.
• Strong understanding of investments, financial markets, private equity concepts, investment performance, and valuation-related reporting.
• Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills; exceptional attention to detail and a strong control mindset.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and writing skills, with the ability to collaborate across investment, accounting, operations, and client-facing teams.
• Ability to own processes, exercise sound judgment, manage priorities and deadlines, escalate issues appropriately, and provide effective review and guidance to junior team members.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; experience with investment reporting, portfolio monitoring, accounting, or data-management systems is strongly preferred.
