NewsNation Live Weekends Segment Producer

Location: Onsite at the network's offices in Chicago, Illinois, United States

Salary: $70,000–$80,000 per year, commensurate with experience

What you will do

• Pitch story ideas and develop live segments and packages covering political, domestic, and international news.
• Produce live guest segments and correspondent hits in collaboration with NewsNation correspondents.
• Find, create, and load video, graphics, lower thirds, and other elements into the rundown quickly and accurately.
• Write, organize, and produce anchor intros, guest segments, teases, and reporter-hit scripts.
• Track story developments and keep the Executive Producer and Senior Producer informed.
• Handle additional assignments from show leaders or news management.

Requirements

• 2–10 years of experience in national or major-market television news preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in journalism or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
• Knowledge and experience editing video and creating graphics.
• Excellent verbal, written, grammar, and analytical skills, with strong knowledge of current events and politics.
• Strong news judgment and the ability to manage multiple assignments with attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively, handle stress and short deadlines, and work at a computer for extended periods.
• Ability to work flexible assigned shifts and remain on call during overnights, mornings, weekends, and holidays.

• Knowledge of ENPS or iNews.
