Senior Producer, NBC News Specials (Weekend Prime and Overnights)

Location: Full-time onsite at 30 Rockefeller Plaza (30 Rock), New York, United States; required to work in person five nights a week, including weekends and overnights, and be on call for urgent breaking events.

Salary: USD 125,000–170,000 per year, bonus eligible.

What you will do

• Lead live breaking-news coverage during major events for weekend prime-time and overnight broadcasts.
• Serve as the primary editorial lead for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday prime and overnight coverage, contributing to Early Today as needed.
• Coordinate with control-room staff, on-air talent, field reporters, and technical, graphics, audio, and talent departments.
• Make rapid editorial decisions that maintain accuracy, clarity, and broadcast quality.
• Produce live cut-ins, special segments, and additional content for NBC Network and NBC News Now.
• Mentor the weekend prime and overnight editorial team and collaborate on event planning and execution.

Requirements

• At least 6 years of experience in broadcast or cable news production, including 3 years on breaking-news or live-event teams.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent newsroom experience.
• Proven rapid and accurate editorial judgment under deadline pressure.
• Expertise in control-room operations from rundown creation through final sign-off.
• Proficiency with automated control-room systems and rundown tools, or clear aptitude to learn them quickly.
• Flexibility to work overnights and weekends and remain on call for urgent breaking events.
• Willingness and ability to work in person at 30 Rock five nights a week.
• This position must be performed full-time from an hirify.global-designated worksite.
