Senior Electrical Engineer (Medical Devices)

What you will do

• Support new product development by creating electrical design specifications, PCB schematics, layouts, and prototypes.
• Integrate hardware designs with firmware, software, sustaining, and operations teams through development, design transfer, and product launch.
• Evaluate internal and external design solutions and incorporate feedback to improve reliability and manufacturability.
• Plan, oversee, and execute design verification tests, including regulatory EMC and safety testing.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and design files according to internal processes and regulatory standards.
• Maintain expertise in manufacturing technologies, competitive technologies, and electrical design engineering.

Requirements

• Thorough knowledge of PCB design from concept through manufacturing transfer, including design-for-manufacturability analysis.
• Thorough knowledge of analog signals, signal integrity, electrical engineering principles, and engineering problem solving.
• Working knowledge of EMI/EMC standards and testing, including FCC and CISPR.
• Working knowledge of DC-DC converters, embedded microcontrollers, memory interfaces, sensors, and related technologies.
• Working knowledge of Altium Designer or similar PCB design software for schematic capture and PCB layout.
• Working knowledge of electrical simulation software such as LTSpice, USB, Ethernet, wireless networking, and high-speed digital signals above 1 GHz.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience, with greater than five years of relevant professional or technical engineering experience of increasing responsibility and difficulty.
• Experience designing regulated equipment; medical or similarly safety-conscious, highly regulated industry experience is preferred.

Nice to have

• Working knowledge of mechanical CAD tools such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
