Systems Engineer (Industrial Automation)

Location: Remote, based in the United States; willingness to travel 30–50% within the USA

What you will do

• Engineer and implement real-time automation controls and information solutions.
• Contribute to project conceptualization and design across the project life cycle.
• Program, debug, test, and commission solutions at client sites.
• Create project engineering notes, proposals, design traceability documentation, and case studies.
• Identify improvement opportunities, develop methodologies, solve complex problems, and learn new technologies.
• Mentor colleagues in areas of expertise and knowledge.

Requirements

• B.Sc. or upcoming completion in Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related Engineering Technology.
• 5–7 years of experience with some or all of the listed technologies.
• Experience or capability in PLC/PAC programming, HMI and SCADA design, system networking, databases, and related automation or information solutions.
• Meticulous, conscientious, analytical, focused, self-starting, and a quick learner.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license and full-time access to a personal vehicle.
• Willingness to travel up to 30–50% within the USA.

Nice to have

• Experience in food and beverage or life sciences.
• Experience with DeviceNet, ControlNet, DH+, Remote IO, or Modbus.
• Experience with Python, Historian/PI System, and databases.
