Specialist - SCADA

Location: Hybrid, Houston, Texas, United States. Standard office environment and hours; occasional travel may be required. Participation in a shared 7x24 after-hours callout rotation is required.

What you will do

• Administer and manage real-time SCADA systems supporting products and natural gas pipelines across North America.
• Analyze, design, configure, develop, and implement SCADA applications, HMI graphics, reports, and data interfaces.
• Implement SCADA system projects for new or modified facilities in accordance with established policies, procedures, and standards.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Control Center, Operations, business groups, and IT teams to meet application, graphics, and reporting requirements.
• Support SCADA hardware and software, operating systems, databases, telecommunications networks, measurement applications, and related IT systems.
• Create documentation covering application design and use, graphics, procedures, and system standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Computer Science; relevant work experience may be accepted instead.
• At least 3 years of experience supporting SCADA, automation, or real-time systems.
• Experience with a current SCADA platform such as GeoSCADA or Ignition.
• Basic programming skills and experience, including object-oriented methodologies and SQL databases with stored procedures.
• Proficiency in one or more scripting languages such as PowerShell, JavaScript, or Python, plus familiarity with the .NET library.
• Familiarity with IT, SCADA, and telecommunications architectural standards.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word.
• Strong organizational, documentation, analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills; excellent English-language skills are required.
• Ability to learn new technology quickly, manage multiple tasks, work under pressure, follow work schedules and rules, and work effectively with a team.
• Ability to perform workstation-based typing and mouse work, with occasional moderate lifting of workstations or monitors.

Nice to have

• SCADA or automation experience in pipeline or liquid terminal industries.
• Understanding of PLC logic control and function.
• Networking experience within a telecommunications department.
