Senior Specialist, Process Automation (Biotechnology)

Location: West Point, Pennsylvania, United States; hybrid work arrangement; 10% travel; no relocation

Salary: $117,000–$184,200 per year, plus eligibility for annual bonus and long-term incentive where applicable

What you will do

• Lead and mentor a team of two engineers supporting process automation for a Hepatitis A vaccine manufacturing facility.
• Direct and prioritize automation workload while ensuring compliance with SDLC, GMP, safety, and environmental requirements.
• Own automated systems, provide subject matter expertise, and collaborate with the Integrated Process Team, business, technical, and quality representatives.
• Support shop-floor manufacturing, troubleshoot automation issues, investigate deviations, and implement process control improvements and corrective actions.
• Administer control systems and maintain permanent inspection readiness, including support for internal and external audits and inspections.
• Evaluate systems and develop strategies for optimization, expansion, replacement, upgrades, and digital manufacturing transformation.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in process automation, IT/OT, or equivalent.
• Technical and operational expertise in DeltaV DCS, PLC, SCADA, HMI, Computer System Validation, and System Development Lifecycle.
• Knowledge of the S88 Batch Standard, regulatory GxP requirements, equipment validation, and process validation.
• Strong technical writing, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to interface effectively with colleagues at all organizational levels, external customers, and vendors.

• Pharmaceutical and biotechnology manufacturing process experience.
