Program Manager (Contract) (EdTech)

Location: Remote, with the role based in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia; may require work or contactability outside regular hours because of different time zones.

What you will do

• Lead planning, governance, and delivery of strategic cross-functional programs aligned with business objectives, product roadmaps, and customer commitments.
• Coordinate Product, Engineering, Operations, Client Services, and Commercial teams across milestones, dependencies, and multiple workstreams.
• Establish governance covering risk management, resource planning, stakeholder communications, status reporting, and executive updates.
• Improve delivery methodologies, operational processes, and program management practices.
• Monitor performance against key metrics, identify issues, and implement mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate across geographies and time zones, including occasional work or contactability outside regular hours.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in Program Management, Project Management, or Delivery Leadership within software, SaaS, technology, or digital product environments.
• Experience managing large-scale, complex, cross-functional programs with multiple stakeholders, competing priorities, and interdependent workstreams.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, including communication with senior leadership and executive stakeholders.
• Ability to establish program governance frameworks, manage risks and dependencies, and deliver within agreed timelines and budgets.
• Experience with industry-standard project management tools such as Microsoft Project, JIRA, Azure DevOps, and related platforms.

Nice to have

• Experience in education technology, SaaS, fintech, or payments.
• Experience working with government agencies or departments.
• PMP, PRINCE2, AgilePM, SAFe, Certified ScrumMaster, or similar certification.
• Experience managing business transformation, product modernisation, cloud migration, or enterprise software implementation programs.
