TL;DR
Engineering Designer (Automotive/Siemens NX): Developing integrated, manufacturable engine-system designs and parametric CAD models with an accent on virtual vehicle integration, structural design, packaging, and production readiness. Focus on controlling interfaces and load paths, applying GD&T and DFM/DFA principles, completing NX Analysis, and delivering accurate math releases through the Global Vehicle Development Process.

Location: Hybrid role based in Warren, Michigan, United States; onsite at the Warren Tech Center at least three days per week, normally Tuesday through Thursday, or as determined by the manager. The role is not eligible for relocation assistance.

Company

hirify.global develops vehicles and mobility products spanning hardware, battery systems, software, safety, and entertainment technologies.

What you will do

  • Develop and maintain production-oriented Siemens NX parametric models for engine components and subsystems.
  • Create virtual vehicle integration solutions covering packaging, hard points, clearances, service access, interfaces, and subsystem configuration.
  • Apply structural design principles covering load paths, stiffness, strength, fatigue, buckling, joints, materials, reinforcements, and local load introduction.
  • Perform or support clearance, usage, configuration, virtual, and NX Analysis studies to guide design decisions.
  • Apply GD&T, tolerance, variation-management, design-for-manufacturability, and design-for-assembly principles.
  • Coordinate with design, engineering, manufacturing, quality, suppliers, plant, program, and service teams to resolve risks and deliver accurate, traceable, on-time math releases.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, engineering technology, or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Two to five years of experience in automotive or mechanical CAD, engineering design, or a related product-development environment.
  • Demonstrated Siemens NX experience with parametric modeling, model organization, design intent, references, constraints, and model-quality practices.
  • Understanding of automotive or mechanical structural design, including load paths, stiffness, strength, joints, reinforcements, materials, and interfaces.
  • Experience with virtual integration, packaging, clearance studies, configurations, usage validation, or comparable design-integration activities.
  • Working knowledge of GD&T, tolerance concepts, variation management, design for manufacturability, and design for assembly.
  • Ability to maintain traceability from requirements through design, review, analysis, release, issue closure, and program deliverables.
  • Ability to manage multiple interfaces and commitments, deliver accurately and on schedule, and communicate technical issues clearly.
  • Ability and willingness to work onsite at the Warren Tech Center at least three days per week.

Nice to have

  • Experience with structural sheet-metal design, stamping, forming, draw direction, flanges, hemming, joining interfaces, reinforcements, springback, and process capability.
  • Knowledge of casting processes, including draft, wall thickness, ribs, fillets, porosity risk, machining, datum strategy, and process limitations.
  • Advanced Siemens NX, NX Analysis, joining, DFMEA, tolerance analysis, durability, design optimization, or failure-mode experience.
  • Experience leading configuration or design changes across load paths, interfaces, tooling, joining, validation, and released data.
  • Ability to influence technical decisions without formal authority and coach less-experienced designers.
  • Master’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline.

Culture & Benefits

  • Work within a cross-functional engineering environment focused on safe, connected, and manufacturable vehicle products.
  • Collaborate through the Global Vehicle Development Process, design reviews, build, validation, and verified issue closure.
  • Employee benefits and total rewards are available from the start of employment.
  • hirify.global provides an inclusive, non-discriminatory workplace and reasonable accommodations for applicants with disabilities.
  • hirify.global does not provide immigration-related sponsorship for this role, including H-1B, OPT, STEM OPT, CPT, TN, or J-1 support.
