Sr. Analyst, Global Energy Production

Location: New York, New York, United States; expected in the office 5 days a week.

Annual base salary: $150,000–$200,000; target annual bonus: 10%.

What you will do

• Lead coverage of global energy production and distribution, including oil, gas, energy services, utilities, transportation, transmission, and storage.
• Research funding and investment trends, including energy infrastructure supporting global AI and datacenter buildouts.
• Use AI, proprietary hirify.global, third-party research, and industry contacts to create actionable analysis.
• Publish industry overviews, market trend analyses, subsector landscapes, commentary, outlooks, and timely market-moving notes.
• Engage with investor and corporate clients on thesis development, due diligence, competitive intelligence, market mapping, and business development.
• Build industry taxonomies, support platform development and research distribution, and represent research in client calls, media, and speaking engagements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 5+ years of experience in oil, gas, energy services, energy production, transmission, or utilities; experience across multiple listed areas is strongly positive.
• Authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship now or in the future.
• Strong writing, analytical, detail-oriented, and research skills, with a genuine interest in markets, industries, and companies.
• Ability to meet demanding client needs and deadlines under pressure, adapt quickly, and publish frequently.
• Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.

Nice to have

• Experience in equity research, securities analysis, investment banking, private equity, consulting, substantive research, commercial banking, corporate development, M&A, or similar fields.
• Experience publishing research, white papers, or other distributed intelligence, including personal writing.
• Understanding of financial concepts such as discounted cash flow and comparable-company valuation, or the ability to learn them quickly.
• Portfolio of projects using AI to create research, data, or intelligence, or ability to create and share new projects.
• Experience with ChatGPT, Claude, Claude Code, Claude Design, and agentic tools such as Cowork.
