Materials Engineer II

Location: Mounds View, Minnesota, United States; minimum 4 days per week on-site, with up to 10% travel

Salary: $87,200–$130,800 per year in U.S. locations, excluding Puerto Rico and specific California locations

What you will do

• Analyze, research, design, and develop materials and related fabrication and application processes for engineering structures, systems, and subsystems.
• Apply chemistry, physics, and material-behavior principles to develop specifications and fabrication and assembly processes for metallic, non-metallic, and composite materials.
• Develop and apply material properties, design allowables, processing requirements, and quality engineering specifications.
• Perform material analyses, including component and system failure analysis, life predictions, and definition and requirements specifications.
• Review and approve subcontractor material-processing procedures when required.

Requirements

• Baccalaureate degree and at least 2 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with at least 0 years of relevant experience.
• For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside the United States, the degree must satisfy the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A).
• Unrestricted U.S. work authorization is required at the time of hire and throughout employment; sponsorship is offered only for Principal-level roles and above.
• Ability to be independently mobile, interact with a computer, and communicate with peers and co-workers.
