Director of Foundation

What you will do

• Lead the development of the international corporate foundation’s strategy, operating model, policies, and long-term direction with the Board of Trustees.
• Manage the end-to-end grantmaking portfolio, including partner identification, due diligence, risk assessment, funding recommendations, agreements, reporting, and relationships.
• Prepare analysis, papers, recommendations, and assurance for Trustees and coordinate international employee committees.
• Maintain governance, safeguarding, due diligence, risk, reporting, accounts, audit, and specialist-advice arrangements.
• Oversee grant budgets, expenditure, forward commitments, learning, measurement, and impact to inform decisions and future strategy.
• Assess future organisational and resource requirements and establish scalable ways of working as the Foundation grows.

Requirements

• Significant senior experience in a foundation, philanthropy, social impact, or grantmaking environment, including substantial or complex funding programmes.
• Experience working with Boards or Trustees and senior stakeholders in international or multi-geography environments.
• Strong understanding of governance, due diligence, safeguarding, risk, and financial stewardship.
• Sound strategic and operational judgement, with the ability to work autonomously and balance strategic leadership with hands-on delivery.
• Excellent written and relationship-building skills.
