Principal Business Systems Architect (Salesforce)

What you will do

• Define end-to-end architecture across CRM, billing, Marketing Operations, revenue systems, and integration or middleware platforms.
• Set the target-state architecture and translate it into a sequenced, fundable roadmap.
• Lead legacy modernization, including SFDC Legacy decommissioning and migration of Zuora integration ownership into Salesforce Lightning.
• Act as the final architectural authority for platform and cross-system design decisions, balancing scalability, security, cost, maintainability, risks, and tradeoffs.
• Translate stakeholder pain points into technical requirements, solution designs, and build specifications for developers and administrators.
• Maintain system diagrams, integration maps, decision records, and other architecture documentation.

Requirements

• 10+ years in enterprise architecture, solutions architecture, or senior technical individual-contributor leadership, spanning CRM and billing or ERP rather than a single-system specialization.
• Experience with GTM and revenue systems such as Salesforce or HubSpot, CPQ, quote-to-cash, and order-to-revenue flows.
• Proven experience leading large-scale legacy modernization or decommissioning, including migration sequencing and risk management.
• Experience serving as a final technical authority and changing direction when better information is presented.
• Strong written communication skills and the ability to document complex technical tradeoffs clearly.
• Ability to work within a standardize-first review process, with customization decisions signed off by the VP of Technology.
• Strong stakeholder communication, conflict management, consensus-building, and respectful pushback skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Zuora or a comparable billing or subscription platform.
• Experience standing up or scaling AI-assisted engineering tooling.
• Experience at a company of similar scale and complexity managing multiple platforms and modernizing legacy systems.
