Consultant, Cyber Architecture (Cybersecurity)

Location: Remote for individuals residing in the Continental United States; approximately 25% travel to client locations is required.

What you will do

• Lead large security engagements with hirify.global cybersecurity team members.
• Review customer security architectures, identify architectural and hardening risks, and recommend secure design and technology remediation.
• Develop strategic, operational, and tactical recommendations to address security risks and compliance gaps.
• Conduct security architecture and controls assessments using frameworks including CIS 18, NIST 800-53, and NIST CSF.
• Collaborate with Cyber Architects, Offensive Security, and Information Security Governance teams to deliver consulting services.
• Meet project success targets for timeliness and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience and/or military experience.
• 6–10 years of work experience; prior consulting experience is preferred.
• Relevant security certification such as CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+, ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity, ISACA Cybersecurity Fundamentals, AWS, Azure, GCP, CCSK, or CCSP.
• Networking or security vendor professional certification.
• Strong verbal and written communication, organizational skills, attention to detail, initiative, professionalism, and ability to manage multiple clients and engagements in parallel.
• Ability to work collaboratively or independently, lead group presentations or whiteboard sessions, and demonstrate effective decision-making in secure architecture design and implementation.
• Cursory architectural and technical knowledge across cloud security, security controls, identity security, and Zero Trust, with in-depth knowledge in at least two areas.
• Experience with at least one of AWS, Azure, or GCP; knowledge of firewalls, NAC, IPS/IDS, endpoint security, content filtering, VPN, SIEM, IAM, PAM, IDaaS, and directory services.
• Ability to advise on network segmentation strategies.

Nice to have

• Experience securing AI/ML systems, including threat modeling, vulnerability assessment, adversarial attacks, data poisoning, and integration of AI-powered security controls.
• Experience with Microsoft operating systems, Linux, and/or containers.
• Practical scripting experience with PowerShell or Python.
• Experience in regulated environments involving PCI, HIPAA, Sarbanes-Oxley, NERC CIP, or similar requirements.
• Documentation experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio or Lucidchart.
