Senior Scientist, Beauty and Care

Location: Kaiseraugst, Switzerland; based at the Global Headquarters in the Basel area.

What you will do

• Lead scientific strategies and R&D projects for skin actives, hair actives, and vitamins, linking research to business impact.
• Generate scientific data packages and claim substantiation dossiers for product performance.
• Design and oversee in vitro, ex vivo, and in vivo studies, including clinical collaborations and external partner management.
• Translate complex biology into product claims, technical narratives, publications, presentations, and conference contributions.
• Partner with Marketing, Sales, Regulatory, Commercial, and multidisciplinary teams, supporting customer engagement and technical positioning.
• Provide scientific training, respond to technical inquiries, and represent R&D with global and regional stakeholders.

Requirements

• PhD in Life Sciences, Biochemistry, Pharmacie, or a related discipline.
• Deep expertise in skin biology and a strong understanding of cosmetic or dermatological mechanisms.
• Extensive industry experience in Personal Care, dermocosmetics, or adjacent fields, including leadership of scientific projects that delivered differentiated, market-relevant innovations.
• Expertise in translating mechanistic science into product claims and connecting biological insights to consumer-relevant benefits.
• Experience designing and orchestrating complex in vitro, ex vivo, and in vivo clinical studies, with end-to-end ownership of claim substantiation strategies.
• Peer-reviewed publications, conference contributions such as IFSCC or SID, and the ability to represent the organization externally.
• Ability to operate and influence at senior levels in a matrix organization across R&D, Marketing, Regulatory, and Commercial teams.
• Customer-facing experience, including key-account engagement, business development support, and persuasive technical communication.
• High ownership, resilience, drive, collaboration, and confidence to challenge and shape scientific direction.
