Salary: $364,140–$449,820 annually, based on the primary location of South San Francisco, CA and New York, NY.

What you will do

• Lead the global AI for Drug Discovery organization across Roche and hirify.global Research and Early Development.
• Define and execute an AI-driven drug discovery strategy, roadmap, and long-term vision across the therapeutic portfolio.
• Build, scale, and deploy AI methodologies, predictive models, foundation models, and computational frameworks for antibody design, protein engineering, and small-molecule design.
• Establish lab-in-the-loop, autonomous agent, active learning, and AI-driven workflows for hit identification, lead optimization, and portfolio decision milestones.
• Partner with Discovery, Early Development, Therapeutic Area, Translational, gRED, pRED, and external AI teams.
• Own organizational strategy, budget, resource allocation, infrastructure, platform capabilities, and global talent development.

Requirements

• Advanced degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Computational Chemistry, Machine Learning, Computational Biology, or a related quantitative field.
• Familiarity with drug discovery, molecule design, and therapeutic discovery.
• Expertise in modern artificial intelligence, deep learning architectures, generative models, and ideally molecular modeling and computational drug discovery.
• Demonstrated experience advancing state-of-the-art AI infrastructure.
• Record of leading foundation model or large-scale engineering efforts, or building research groups recognized in the external AI community.
• Demonstrated ability to lead large, multidisciplinary teams and foster global collaboration.
• Exceptional communication skills and the ability to thrive in ambiguity while bringing clarity to objectives.
• Ability to define and communicate a clear mission and vision, and quickly pivot the vision and team in a rapidly shifting and growing environment.
• Track record of operating a large, multi-site organization, including budget ownership, organizational design, and building engineering or platform functions.
