Application Scientist (Mass Spectrometry)

Location: Thun, Switzerland; willingness to travel to customer sites up to 25%.

What you will do

• Design and execute experiments demonstrating product capabilities, then communicate results to internal and external stakeholders.
• Lead customer demonstrations and application and method development activities.
• Build collaborations with international reference customers and provide technical expertise throughout customer engagements with Sales.
• Install instruments and deliver customer training at customer sites.
• Create technical and application-focused marketing materials, test protocols, manuals, and production-transfer documentation.
• Coordinate with Research, Engineering, Software Development, Production, Quality, and Global Service while supporting system characterization, troubleshooting, root-cause investigations, and customer guidance.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Physics, or a related field.
• Strong expertise in mass spectrometry and associated technologies.
• Experience in application and method development, sample preparation, and data analysis.
• Ability to interpret and present scientific results.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with technical documentation, training, and knowledge transfer.
• Knowledge of method validation and statistical analysis.
• Fluent English required; German is an asset.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% required.
