Senior UI Engineer, Frontend (React)

What you will do

• Build and ship React applications, design-system components, and complex clinical workflows with strong performance, accessibility, and responsive behavior.
• Design scalable front-end architecture covering state management, routing, testing, CI/CD, and API contracts with back-end engineers.
• Lead code reviews and automated testing while championing semantic HTML, ARIA, modern CSS, and keyboard navigation.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through pairing, reviews, and technical guidance.
• Use AI development tools in daily work and help define responsible practices for delegation, code review, research, and team adoption.
• Own projects from scoping through delivery and long-term evolution while collaborating with product, design, and engineering.

Requirements

• 5+ years building production web applications with React and TypeScript.
• Production experience building or contributing to component libraries or design systems.
• Strong responsive CSS and accessibility skills, including WCAG 2.2.
• Experience with front-end performance tooling such as Lighthouse and Web Vitals.
• Experience designing RESTful API interfaces and integrating them cleanly into the UI.
• Regular, not occasional, experience working across the stack with Node.js and Postgres.
• Experience using AI development tools in real work, with a clear understanding of their strengths and limitations.
• Experience owning a system or project end to end, from scoping through long-term evolution; leading or heavily influencing cross-functional work with product and design; and communicating technical decisions and trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders.
• Comfort working in a remote, fast-moving environment with daily releases. A specific degree is not required; a CS or engineering degree or equivalent hands-on experience is accepted.

Nice to have

• Experience building UIs that handle sensitive data, including HIPAA/PHI, audit trails, and role-based views.
• Experience leading a design-system build or migration.
• Experience writing RFCs or design documents that changed team direction.
• Experience with healthcare, pharmacy, or other regulated-industry software.
