Principal Enterprise Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Hybrid in Kennesaw, Georgia, United States; 8 days per month onsite. Other locations: Houston, Texas and Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Salary: $133,400–$238,400 USD annually, plus bonus eligibility.

What you will do

• Architect, build, deploy, and operationalize enterprise-scale cloud-native AI agents, orchestrations, skills, and plugins.
• Translate business processes into intelligent workflows using agentic systems, process engineering, APIs, integrations, and event-driven architectures.
• Design multi-agent systems with intent-driven decision-making, dynamic authorization, controlled execution, safety patterns, observability, and auditability.
• Build reusable reference architectures, templates, patterns, and governed platform capabilities that scale AI adoption across business and engineering teams.
• Mentor engineers, deliver workshops and playbooks, and shape the AI platform roadmap through research, POCs, and technology evaluation.
• Establish governance and compliance practices for regulated industries, including healthcare, financial services, and legal technology.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field is required.
• Strong cloud and hybrid-environment architecture experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP; deep knowledge of distributed systems, microservices, operating systems, storage, networking, and infrastructure.
• Proven experience building production LLM applications and agentic systems, including autonomous decision-making, tool use, workflow execution, and reusable composable AI components.
• Strong Python proficiency; Java or C# experience is acceptable as an additional high-level programming language. Experience with LangChain, LlamaIndex, OpenAI SDK, Anthropic SDK, or equivalent is required.
• Ability to translate complex business processes into orchestrations, skills, plugins, and intelligent workflows; experience with workflow engines, process automation, and enterprise integrations.
• Expertise in API design and consumption, asynchronous patterns, event-driven architectures, scalable integrations, and hybrid or multi-cloud challenges.
• Experience testing AI/ML systems through unit, integration, evaluation, benchmarking, and validation frameworks.
• Deep experience with AI governance, policy enforcement, risk classification, audit trails, compliance controls, and observability; knowledge of NIST AI RMF, ISO/IEC 42001, SOC 2, ISO 27001, and HIPAA.
• Experience with Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Services, Cosmos DB, Functions, Azure Cognitive Search, or equivalent AWS/GCP services; knowledge of data pipelines, vector databases, knowledge graphs, data governance, and knowledge management.
• Cross-functional leadership, stakeholder communication, mentoring, thought leadership, rapid prototyping, problem-solving, and comfort with ambiguity are required.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field is strongly preferred.
• PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related discipline is a plus.
• Experience with emerging agentic orchestration, AI safety, cost optimization, prompt caching, model quantization, intelligent batching, open-source contributions, research, or speaking engagements.
