Product Owner (Payments)

What you will do

• Define and manage product vision, strategy, roadmaps, and priorities.
• Own and prioritise the product backlog, translating business requirements into user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Collaborate with software engineers, architects, Business Analysts, and business stakeholders in an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Oversee payment gateways, merchant acquiring, transaction processing, authorisation, settlement, and payment integrations.
• Support sprint planning, review and accept delivered functionality, and identify improvements to product performance and customer experience.

Requirements

• At least 6 years of relevant professional experience, including strong experience as a Product Owner or in a comparable product delivery role.
• Banking domain expertise and strong knowledge of Agile and Scrum.
• Experience owning and prioritising product backlogs, defining product roadmaps and priorities, and writing user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Experience gathering and analysing business requirements and working directly with software development teams.
• Understanding of software development processes and enterprise applications.
• Experience managing business and technical stakeholders and prioritising based on business value, customer impact, and technical constraints.
• Experience reviewing and accepting delivered functionality.
• Strong communication and coordination skills.
• Good English is required for international project work.

Nice to have

• Experience with Visa, Mastercard, card payment ecosystems, card transaction lifecycles, payment processing integrations, or APIs.
• Experience with high-volume transaction platforms, payment security, regulatory requirements, PSD2, PCI DSS, or Strong Customer Authentication.
• Experience with platform modernisation projects, distributed international engineering teams, or several integrated enterprise systems.
• Familiarity with Jira and Confluence.
