Automation Engineer (AI)

Location: Finland; based at hirify.global's Helsinki HQ with a hybrid schedule requiring office work three days a week.

What you will do

• Learn how business processes work in practice, including unofficial steps and exceptions, then redesign and automate them end to end.
• Work with Finance, People, Go-to-Market, and other business teams to select the most valuable problems to solve.
• Determine which decisions should use rules, models, or agents and which should remain with people; build appropriate exception handling and controls.
• Write code, work with APIs, build integrations and agents, and deploy solutions to production using AI coding tools and n8n where appropriate.
• Ensure internal software is observable, recoverable, safe, and auditable when used with important business systems.
• Own technical design and implementation while business owners retain responsibility for policy and adoption.

Requirements

• Experience building production systems that people depend on and owning them after launch.
• Experience connecting systems with personal code and APIs.
• Tests, observability, retries, and failure handling must be part of the engineering approach.
• Experience solving problems closely with Finance, Operations, Sales, People, Support, or another business function.
• Ability to understand undocumented real-world processes, identify edge cases, and turn them into systems that can be built safely.
• Product judgment to question the underlying problem rather than automate requests without understanding their purpose.
• Ability to learn new business domains quickly and recognize when there is insufficient understanding to automate safely.

Nice to have

• Experience in finance or another controlled operational domain.
• Experience putting LLMs or agents into production.
