Pharmacology Trainee

Location: Spain; Remote. The role is associated with R&D and Medical Affairs in Sant Feliu de Llobregat, with the research team based in Barcelona.

What you will do

• Perform in vivo studies to characterize mechanisms of action and efficacy of compounds and new drug candidates.
• Conduct routine laboratory experiments and procedures using modern laboratory equipment, recording and checking results.
• Plan and initiate established and new experimental approaches with a high level of independence.
• Analyze and interpret experimental results and prepare reports and presentations.
• Support colleagues in planning and executing experiments within a collaborative, matrixed environment.
• Maintain laboratory records, equipment, supplies, and work areas while complying with applicable regulations and protocols; conduct literature reviews and contribute to team knowledge.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree and experience in a research laboratory.
• Proficiency in mouse handling and dosing.
• Ability to independently process and analyze tissue samples from rodents and/or minipigs using modern technologies.
• Excellent aseptic cell culture technique with human and murine primary cells and transformed cell lines.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing and to critically interpret and present data.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills for resolving problems using basic scientific, mathematical, or technical principles.
• Ability to take accountability, prioritize work, and adapt to shifting priorities and changing assignments.
• Proficiency with data-analysis and office tools such as Prism, FlowJo, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• English communication ability is required.

Nice to have

• EU license to work in procedures and projects involving laboratory animals, or equivalent.
• Experience with RT-PCR, ELISA, Flow Cytometry, and Western Blot.
• Experience with immunology techniques for isolating and conducting ex vivo analysis of cells from animal tissues or human skin samples.
