Senior Data Scientist (AI)

Location: Hybrid in London, United Kingdom; occasional onsite work with government clients may be required.

What you will do

• Lead project teams delivering bespoke algorithms and high-stakes AI solutions for public-sector clients.
• Define data science approaches and design robust software architectures for new engagements.
• Mentor data scientists and support the professional growth of technical team members.
• Partner with commercial teams to build client relationships and shape technically feasible project scopes.
• Contribute to thought leadership through courses, public speaking, or open-source projects.
• Ensure best practices and delivery rigour throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

• Senior experience in a professional data science role or quantitative academic field.
• Fluent Python programming using NumPy, Pandas, and a deep-learning framework such as PyTorch.
• Deep expertise in supervised and unsupervised learning, NLP, validation, and the standard data science toolkit, including developing innovative algorithms.
• Leadership mindset focused on growing technical capabilities and nurturing a collaborative culture.
• Commercial awareness, client-facing experience, and the ability to translate business problems into rigorous mathematical frameworks.
• Experience planning projects, assessing technical feasibility, estimating delivery timelines, and leading teams to deliver high-quality work on strict schedules.
• You may need to be eligible for UK Security Clearance (SC).

Hiring process

• Talent Team screen lasting 30 minutes.
• Take-home technical assessment.
• Technical interview lasting 90 minutes, followed by a 60-minute commercial interview.
